Working meeting of the 4th Subotica Half Marathon held
Today a working meeting of the organisers of the Subotica Half Marathon and the competent authorities, services and public enterprises was held in the City Hall, convened by the President of the Subotica City Assembly, Dr Bálint Pásztor.
The meeting was attended by representatives of the race organiser, the sports association “Horizont”, the Ministry of the Interior, the Subotica Police Department, the directors of the competent public and public utility enterprises of the City of Subotica with their associates, the director of the Subotica Health Centre as well as staff of the Emergency Medical Service, the head of the humanitarian, independent and voluntary organisation “Red Cross”, and representatives of the City of Subotica and the competent services of the City Administration of Subotica.
The 4th Subotica Half Marathon, to be held as part of the celebration of Subotica City Day on 29 August, is organised by the sports association “Horizont”, which, as was heard at the working meeting, all the participants of the meeting will help, in line with the successful and high-quality cooperation so far, to organise through joint efforts the road race under the slogan “Run through History”, the second largest in Serbia after the famous “Belgrade Marathon”.
While the runners take care of their health through sporting activity, they will at the same time be able to enjoy the landmarks and Art Nouveau beauties of our city, looking at the City Hall, the National Theatre with its Corinthian columns, the Raichle Palace, the monuments to Ivan Sarić and Dezső Kosztolányi and other cultural and historical buildings of the City of Subotica. As Dr Bálint Pásztor, President of the City Assembly, pointed out as host of today’s meeting, this is precisely one of the sporting and recreational events that promotes running and a healthy lifestyle, but at the same time influences the tourism potential and attractiveness of the City of Subotica.
Registration for the Subotica Half Marathon is open and interested runners can register on the website www.supm.rs for the 5 km race, the 10 km race and the half marathon (21.1 km).
