SUPM Run&Fun Day

SUPM Run&Fun Day

Yesterday the first training race called SUPM Run&Fun Day was held, organised by the sports association Horizont. On the initiative of a member of the association Horizont and the organising committee of the Subotica Half Marathon, a mini running race was set up as a kind of form check for the upcoming 3rd Subotica Half Marathon on 1 September 2019.

The race had a charitable character and the participation fee was 200 dinars per participant.

All the proceeds collected, amounting to 24,140.00 dinars, will be paid into the account of Danijela Peić, a blind fellow citizen of ours, for whom every kind of help is necessary to function without hindrance.

The Subotica Half Marathon will double the amount collected and pay Danijela a total of 48,280.00 dinars.

The event was attended by a great 6-member team of the Subotica Red Cross.

120 runners took part in the races of 5 and 10 laps. Besides the runners there were around 200 more supporters who wholeheartedly cheered and supported the runners.

The organisation of the event was helped by the sponsors of SUPM Run&Fun Day: Baulink, which provided great refreshments for runners and supporters, VodaVoda with the precious liquid for everyone, and Net Mobil Shop with prizes for the winners of the 10-lap race and great sound and rhythm in the Prozivka memorial park.

The runners had electronic timing and can view their results here:

The whole event was also covered by a television crew from TV Pannon.

A large number of recreational runners from the Subotica running school and ARK Trona swelled the race, and it was our pleasure that, besides them, many individuals also took part in this lovely get-together.

We also had dear guests from Bečej, who delighted us with their arrival and response to this get-together.

Thank you to everyone who came and made their contribution, both to this race and to the race Danijela is running.

We will see each other again soon, and we wish you all the best.
