Running is the shared love of the “Gebi” team
The company “Gebi” is known in the region as a leader in the production and sale of animal feed. It is a 100% domestic company, owned by the Ožvar family from Čantavir, which currently has 450 employees and is located at Maršala Tita 46, in the village of Čantavir. “Gebi” is a pioneer among private companies in our region, with a tradition of private business now spanning more than 40 years. The symbiosis between the Company and Subotica in the field of agriculture is significant.
“Running is the shared love of the ‘Gebi’ team. Besides the Company’s leaders, the other members of the team also organise team-building get-togethers for their departments, at times when the pace of business allows. It is precisely our love of running that drew us to join the team that helps make the Subotica Half Marathon happen,” says Tihomir Ožvar, owner of the company “Gebi” from Čantavir, adding that this love should also be passed on to the youngest, because children are our shared future and responsibility, and by our example of doing sport and taking part in the half marathon it is possible to create a tradition of this event.
In his words, the members of the “Gebi” team gladly take part in the Subotica Half Marathon as competitors, because the event is a lovely day for everyone; running is certainly one of the activities this company chooses as a form of team building, because running is important for people above all from the aspect of mental, and therefore also physical, health.
In recent years running has become a popular sport and is spreading more and more as a form of recreation, and Tihomir Ožvar, owner of the company “Gebi”, believes that the ever faster pace of life, together with the influx of a huge amount of varied information, requires us to give ourselves a little breathing space, to air out our body and our mind. That is exactly why running outdoors, through the city or the woods, in his words, has a much greater advantage. Next year Subotica will be a European City of Sport, and in the opinion of Tihomir Ožvar, owner of the company “Gebi”, the leader in the production and sale of animal feed, the Subotica Half Marathon had a significant influence in winning that title.
